Teresa M. Casey joined Mackin & Company in 1997, and
has been involved in every aspect of managing the
company and its client organizations over the years.
Before joining the company, Teresa worked in several
publishing-related roles.
Teresa has managed the operations of the Association of Financial Guaranty Insurers (AFGI) for several years. Teresa has spearheaded government affairs initiatives, coordinated communications and information technology projects for the Association, and prepared financial reports, budgets, as well as a range of documents. Most recently she coordinated and developed substantive reports for AFGI’s risk management liaison with the City of New Orleans and other debt issuers in the Hurricane Katrina affected area.
Teresa is the primary author of a report on taxation of multi-state insurance transactions in the non-admitted market.
Mackin & Company has offered Teresa the opportunity to hone editorial and publishing skills gained while working for an educational and financial publishing house, as a regional book buyer for a large retailer.
Teresa has overseen all aspects of research and publishing of the Insurance Legislative Fact Book and Almanac, which Mackin & Company published for 19 years before its sale. Teresa was also instrumental in managing research and editing copy for two annual volumes on significant insurance legislation, which Bob Mackin authored, State Insurance Legislation: Highlights of Significant Legislation Affecting Insurers and Markets, and Property & Casualty Insurance State Legislation: Highlights of Significant Legislation Affecting Insurers and Markets.
Teresa holds a BA in anthropology from Bard College. Teresa wrote a thesis in the anthropology of place called Snow Flies Seven Months, Blackflies the Other Five: Cultural Images of History and Human Endurance in the Adirondack Wilderness. |
