Teresa M. Casey, Principal, joined Bob Mackin in 1997.
Teresa is the Executive Director of the Association of Financial Guaranty Insurers, whose operations she has managed for several years. She has coordinated government affairs initiatives for AFGI, including extensive lobbying in New York and before the National Conference of Insurance Legislators (NCOIL) and the National Association of Insurance Commissioners (NAIC). She has also facilitated media and other communications needs.
Teresa has prepared bill drafts for consideration in New York, and drafted amendments to the NAIC Financial Guaranty Insurance Model Act to comport with 20 years of changes to New York and California law.
Teresa is the primary author of a report on taxation of multistate insurance transactions in the non-admitted market, prepared for the Excess Line Association of New York (ELANY).
Teresa has moderated a panel discussion on aspects of government relations for association management professionals.
Teresa has overseen research, publishing and marketing of the Insurance Legislative Fact Book and Almanac. Teresa also researched and edited copy for two annual volumes on significant insurance legislation, which Bob Mackin authored.
Teresa holds a BA in anthropology from Bard College, where she wrote a thesis in the anthropology of place called Snow Flies Seven Months, Blackflies the Other Five: Cultural Images of History and Human Endurance in the Adirondack Wilderness.
Teresa serves on the Board of Girls Incorporated of the Greater Capital Region, Inspiring Girls to be Strong, Smart and Bold, and is a member of the Empire State Society of Association Executives (ESSAE).
